Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create user-centered designs that enhance user experience. Your expertise in Figma and Adobe XD allows you to craft high-fidelity prototypes and design systems that are both functional and visually appealing. You are skilled in user research methodologies, enabling you to gather insights that inform your design decisions and improve user interactions. You have a passion for AI and understand its potential to transform user experiences, particularly in the context of observability and incident response. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to bring innovative ideas to life. You are comfortable presenting your designs and rationale to stakeholders, advocating for user needs while balancing business objectives.
Desirable
Experience with generative AI and large language models is a plus, as is familiarity with design systems and UI patterns specific to AI applications. You may have worked on projects that involve multi-modal interactions, enhancing your understanding of how users engage with technology across different platforms.
What you'll do
As the Staff Product Designer for Bits AI at Datadog, you will own the end-to-end design process for the User Assistant Agent, ensuring that it meets user needs across various platforms including desktop, mobile, and team communication tools. You will conduct user research to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement, translating findings into actionable design solutions. Collaborating with the Applied AI design team, you will contribute to the development of AI UI patterns that enhance user interactions with the assistant. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure that your designs are implemented accurately and effectively, participating in design reviews and providing feedback throughout the development process. Your role will also involve mentoring junior designers and sharing best practices within the design team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
