You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in infrastructure, where you've built and maintained high-scale, low-latency systems. Your expertise in Kubernetes is complemented by hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, allowing you to design and implement robust infrastructure solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product, data, and machine learning teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of infrastructure components.

Your background includes a strong understanding of networking, data management, and machine learning serving, which enables you to contribute effectively to the foundational cloud stack. You are adept at infrastructure-as-code practices, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency in deployments. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy tackling complex challenges that require innovative solutions.

Desirable

Experience with customer-managed deployments is a plus, as is familiarity with streaming and batch data platforms. You are also encouraged to bring any additional skills that enhance your ability to contribute to the team, such as knowledge of monitoring tools or CI/CD practices.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team at Decagon, you will be responsible for building and operating the core infrastructure that powers our conversational AI platform. You will design and implement networking, compute, storage, and security solutions that ensure our systems are reliable and efficient. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver high-performance systems that meet clear service level objectives (SLOs).

You will also focus on developing infrastructure-as-code practices, enabling the team to automate deployments and manage resources effectively across multiple cloud environments. Your role will involve optimizing existing systems and identifying opportunities for improvement, ensuring that our infrastructure can scale with the growing demands of our clients.

In addition to technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall engineering culture at Decagon, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous learning.
