You have 5 or more years of product management experience shipping internal APIs and developer platforms — you've successfully taken products from 0 to 1, navigating ambiguity and building foundational systems that empower other teams. Your experience includes working closely with engineering teams to define and enhance developer experiences, ensuring that the products you manage meet the needs of users and stakeholders alike.
You thrive in environments where you can build things from scratch — the challenge of venturing into the unknown excites you, and you find energy in shaping new product lines. Your background includes launching integrations that unlock new use cases, and you have a strong understanding of how to position and price products effectively in the market.
You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams — you understand the importance of aligning product strategy with sales and marketing efforts to drive success. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders ensures that everyone is on the same page as you work towards common goals.
Desirable
Experience with AI-powered products or media editing tools would be a plus, as would familiarity with no-code platforms and workflow automation. You are comfortable using data to inform your decisions and are always looking for ways to improve the user experience.
What you'll do
As the Senior Product Manager for Descript's API and platform, you will own the developer experience that enables teams to create content workflows at scale. You will work closely with the Agentic AI team to influence the editing capabilities that are exposed through the API, ensuring that the product meets the evolving needs of media companies and marketing teams.
Your responsibilities will include defining and growing this business line by shaping positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with sales and marketing teams. You will launch integrations that unlock new use cases, such as MCP wrappers and strategic partner integrations, driving the adoption of your products across various industries.
You will also be responsible for gathering user feedback and conducting market research to inform product development, ensuring that the features you build align with user needs and industry trends. Your role will involve setting clear metrics for success and tracking the performance of your products post-launch, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
