Overview
dLocal is hiring a Senior Network Edge Engineer to own and evolve their cloud WAF stack, ensuring the protection of public APIs and frontends. You'll work with technologies like AWS, Terraform, and Docker in a remote capacity from Barcelona.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in network engineering, particularly in high-criticality environments such as payments or fintech, where availability and latency are paramount. Your background as a network/security architect allows you to propose end-to-end designs that incorporate multi-WAF and multi-cloud strategies, ensuring robust security and performance.
You possess deep expertise in cloud security, particularly with WAF technologies, and are adept at defining and tuning rules and policies to minimize false positives while maximizing protection. Your experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices ensures that changes to the network are repeatable, auditable, and secure, seamlessly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Your technical skills include proficiency in AWS, Terraform, and Docker, along with a solid understanding of networking protocols and services such as DNS, VPNs, and routing. You are comfortable automating deployment workflows and have a strong command of observability tools to monitor and enhance network performance.
You are a proactive problem solver, capable of leading incident response efforts for network and WAF-related security events. Your collaboration with Information Security and Compliance teams ensures that the network architecture meets regulatory standards, providing audit-ready evidence when necessary.
Desirable
Experience with machine learning applications in security contexts is a plus, as is familiarity with regulatory frameworks like PCI and SOX. You thrive in environments that require quick decision-making and adaptability, and you are always looking for ways to improve processes and reduce operational risks.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take ownership of the cloud WAF stack, continuously evolving it to protect public APIs and frontends at scale. You will define and tune rules, policies, and traffic flows, ensuring that performance issues and attacks are detected early through comprehensive observability practices.
You will design and operate VPCs and core network services, ensuring they are resilient and scalable. Your responsibilities will include automating key deployment workflows, minimizing manual work, and reducing human error. You will lead incident response efforts, executing controlled failovers and driving post-mortems to enhance future performance.
Collaboration is key in this role; you will partner closely with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure that the network architecture aligns with industry standards. Your contributions will help shape the security posture of the organization, making a significant impact on its overall success.
What we offer
dLocal offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a real difference in the security and performance of our network infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
