Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, particularly focused on data platforms — you've successfully managed and optimized data workflows and understand the intricacies of data product development. Your expertise in GCP and its services like BigQuery and Cloud Storage allows you to create efficient data solutions that scale with the organization’s needs.

You are proficient in CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code, enabling you to automate deployment processes and ensure that data products are delivered reliably and securely. Your experience with monitoring tools ensures that you can maintain high availability and performance of the data platform, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.

You possess strong collaboration skills, having worked closely with data engineers, data scientists, and product owners to facilitate seamless data flow across teams. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is a key asset in ensuring that everyone is aligned on data governance and product ownership.

Desirable

Experience with data mesh architecture and decentralized data product management is a plus, as it aligns with the organization’s goals of empowering teams to take ownership of their data products. Familiarity with observability tools will enhance your ability to provide insights into data quality and lineage, further supporting data-driven decision-making.

What you'll do

In this role, you will maintain the Data Product Controller, allowing stakeholders to manage their data products autonomously through automated processes. You will also oversee the Data and AI Platform orchestrator, ensuring that data product developers can orchestrate their workflows effectively. Monitoring the data platform for performance and reliability will be a key responsibility, as will troubleshooting issues and implementing proactive solutions.

You will collaborate with various teams to optimize platform costs and identify savings opportunities, ensuring that the data platform remains efficient and cost-effective. Your role will involve offering observability components that provide developer teams and data product consumers with insights into costs, data quality, and data lineage.
