Who you are

You have over 5 years of software development experience with JVM-based languages such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin, and you possess strong functional programming skills. Your background includes building high-throughput streaming systems and tackling performance optimization challenges that are critical in a big data environment. You are familiar with real-time data processing pipelines and have experience with tools like Kafka and Databricks/Spark. Your strong DevOps mindset includes working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab, and you understand infrastructure as code principles. You hold a BSc in Computer Science or have equivalent experience, and you excel in communication and collaboration across teams.

Desirable

Experience in ad-tech is a plus, as is familiarity with schema evolution and data serialization formats such as Avro, Protobuf, or Parquet. You are eager to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex challenges that have a significant impact on the industry.

What you'll do

As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer at DoubleVerify, you will join the Traffic Team, a core engineering group responsible for the company's measurement system. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing real-time data processing pipelines that handle over 100 billion events daily. You will lead projects from end-to-end, encompassing design, development, integration, deployment, and production support. You will also focus on optimizing system performance and ensuring the reliability of the data processing infrastructure. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that enhance the company's capabilities in ad verification and analytics.
