You have extensive experience in backend engineering, ideally with a focus on building consumer-facing products. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively across various teams and levels within the organization. Your leadership style emphasizes mentorship, and you are committed to raising the technical standards of your team through coaching and example. Desirable
Experience with machine learning and large language models is a plus, as is familiarity with consumer product onboarding flows. You are adaptable and can integrate evolving business contexts into your technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment with company metrics and goals.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own large, ambiguous problem spaces and translate them into a clear technical roadmap for your team. You will lead a group of 15-20 engineers, driving reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across foundational systems. Your hands-on approach will involve daily coding, design authorship, and critical reviews, ensuring that high standards are met consistently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape area-level decisions and influence the Core Engineering roadmaps. As you grow in this role, you will transition from a technical driver to an org-level strategist, optimizing for the company as a whole.
