Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data science with a focus on product analytics, ideally within a SaaS environment. Your experience includes performing analytical deep-dives to identify problems and opportunities, and you are skilled in designing and executing experiments to inform future experimentation roadmaps. You possess robust knowledge of consumer lifecycle, behavior analysis, and customer segmentation, allowing you to create personalized segmentation strategies that leverage propensity models. You are adept at identifying key trends and building automated reporting and executive-facing dashboards to track acquisition, monetization, and engagement trends. Your leadership and influence skills enable you to advocate for new solutions and build momentum cross-functionally to move ideas grounded in data forward. Proficiency in programming and statistical packages like R or Python is a plus, and you hold a Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Desirable
Experience in product analytics within a SaaS company is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of user engagement behavior and the ability to derive actionable insights from data. You are someone who can bring strong narrative framing to influence business decisions proactively.

As a Staff Data Scientist at Dropbox, you will partner closely with product, engineering, and design teams to answer key questions that drive impact in the Core Experience and AI areas. Your role will involve solving challenging problems and boosting business growth through a deep understanding of user behaviors with applied analytics techniques. You will perform analytical deep-dives to analyze problems and opportunities, identifying hypotheses and designing experiments to validate them. Your insights will inform future experimentation design and roadmaps, enhancing user engagement and driving product improvements. You will create personalized segmentation strategies leveraging propensity models to enable targeted offers and experiences based on user attributes. Additionally, you will identify key trends and build automated reporting and executive-facing dashboards to track the progress of acquisition, monetization, and engagement trends. Your ability to monitor and analyze a high volume of data will be crucial in advocating for new solutions and moving ideas forward across teams.
