Your analytical mindset is complemented by a strategic approach to problem-solving — you enjoy tackling challenges that require innovative solutions and are comfortable leading investigations when predictions diverge from reality. You are passionate about using data to inform decisions and improve processes.

Desirable

Experience with consumer subscription models is a plus, as is familiarity with financial metrics and KPIs. A background in education technology or similar industries would be beneficial, but not required.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own and evolve Duolingo's financial forecasting systems — your work will be at the center of our business strategy, influencing product development and monetization efforts. You will collaborate with various teams, including finance and engineering, to ensure that forecasts are not only accurate but also actionable and trusted.

You will lead the development of models that account for the complexities of subscription dynamics, ensuring that your forecasts are explainable and reliable. Your insights will guide senior executives in making informed decisions that align with our mission of providing the best education to learners worldwide.

You will also be responsible for communicating the implications of your findings to stakeholders across the organization — your ability to translate data into actionable insights will be crucial in driving our strategic initiatives forward. You will mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
