You have 7+ years of strong software development experience, particularly with Ruby on Rails and SQL databases. Your expertise includes building and maintaining scalable backend systems, and you have a solid understanding of RESTful APIs and performance optimization techniques. You enjoy mentoring junior developers and are passionate about driving development ideas that benefit the business and enhance your own skills.

You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, engaging with cross-functional teams including marketing, support, and product management. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced setting and are eager to contribute to the entire product lifecycle.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like GCP and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes would be a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Easyship, you will participate in the entire product lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain the backend of our web applications, ensuring that our RESTful API is scalable and optimized for performance. You will also drive the development of new products that integrate with our existing platform, collaborating closely with engineering leadership and the product team to establish priorities and manage the technical roadmap.

You will write clean, maintainable code and provide training and support to internal teams. Mentoring junior developers will be a key part of your role, as you help them grow their skills and navigate complex technical challenges. You will bring new development ideas to the table, contributing to the overall success of the team and the company.
