You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable systems that handle large volumes of data. Your background includes working with data ingestion tools and you understand the complexities involved in managing structured and unstructured data. You are proficient in Elasticsearch and have a strong grasp of cloud-based solutions, which enables you to contribute effectively to the Elastic Agent and Fleet projects. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with diverse teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
Desirable
Experience with data transformation and processing tools such as Logstash and ingest pipelines is a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms and data security practices will enhance your ability to contribute to our mission. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can improve our data ingestion processes.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Observability Ingest team, you will maintain and evolve the Elastic Agent, ensuring it remains a unified data collector for our solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the user experience of data ingestion on Elastic Cloud. Your role will involve designing and implementing features that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data collection, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production environments. You will also contribute to the development of the Fleet management platform, which centralizes the management of integrations and data sources.
You will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to uphold the quality of our software. Additionally, you will engage in discussions about system architecture and design, providing insights based on your experience to help shape the future of our products. Your contributions will directly impact how organizations utilize their data, making it easier for them to derive insights and drive business outcomes.
