You have 2+ years of experience with GIS concepts and workflows — you understand the intricacies of geographic information systems and can effectively communicate complex ideas. Your background in technical or academic writing has honed your ability to write clearly and concisely, ensuring that users can easily grasp the information presented. You possess strong attention to detail, which allows you to produce high-quality documentation that meets the needs of diverse audiences. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical details and translate them into effective content. Your passion for clarity and precision drives you to continuously improve documentation based on user feedback and testing results.
Desirable
Experience with software testing and the ability to identify and report software issues to development teams is a plus. Familiarity with creating screen-capture videos to demonstrate software functionality or tutorial workflows would enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will join the ArcGIS Pro Documentation team and play a crucial part in shaping how users understand and apply Esri's leading desktop GIS software. You will write and edit a wide range of user-facing content, including conceptual and workflow documentation, tutorials, settings and configuration help, and release notes. Your responsibilities will also include producing 'What's New' content for each release, ensuring that users are informed about the latest features and improvements. You will collaborate with over 50 software development teams to gather technical details, test software features, and verify fixes through testing. Additionally, you will respond to user feedback on documentation, making updates or improvements as needed to enhance the user experience. Your contributions will help users succeed in utilizing ArcGIS Pro effectively.
