Who you are
You have a strong background in data science, with experience in machine learning and data analysis β you've worked on projects that required a deep understanding of user intent and ranking algorithms. Your proficiency in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, driving insights that inform product decisions.
You thrive in interdisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with software engineers and machine learning engineers β your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly helps bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about e-commerce and understand the unique challenges of the luxury fashion industry.
Your experience includes designing and conducting rigorous experiments to validate hypotheses β you are comfortable with A/B testing and can interpret results to guide product development. You have a keen eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset, enabling you to identify trends and patterns that others might overlook.
What you'll do
As a Data Scientist at Farfetch, you will be responsible for advancing the Learning to Rank (LTR) approaches for Brand, Category, and Search PLPs β your work will directly impact the discovery experience for millions of luxury fashion lovers. You will collaborate with the Search & Rankings team to modernize search engine solutions and drive broader discovery initiatives as the product scales.
You will focus on understanding user intent and designing complex ranking logic that enhances the overall shopping experience β your insights will help shape the core discovery experience that connects customers with items from over 1,400 of the worldβs best brands. You will also work on building robust MLOps pipelines in collaboration with machine learning engineers, ensuring that your models are scalable and efficient.
Your role will involve rigorous experimentation to prove the value of your approaches β you will analyze data to derive actionable insights and present your findings to stakeholders. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest trends in data science and machine learning, continuously seeking ways to improve the ranking algorithms and search functionalities.
