Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering with experience in process development and automation — you've successfully translated manual processes into technical requirements and have a keen eye for identifying opportunities to enhance production capabilities. Your project management skills are top-notch, allowing you to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
You understand the intricacies of production systems, particularly in the context of finishing processes — your expertise in quality control and continuous improvement activities ensures that you can sustain daily operations while driving advancements in technology. You are adept at applying various process development tools and methodologies to optimize production systems and align them with key performance indicators.
What you'll do
As a Staff Engineer at Fender, you will partner closely with Operations and technology vendors to translate manual finishing processes into technical system requirements. You will identify automation opportunities that can advance production capabilities and capacity, ensuring that the systems you develop are aligned with operational requirements and production KPIs. Your role will involve capturing and correlating these requirements to ensure seamless integration into existing workflows.
You will lead project management efforts, facilitating communication between automation partners and Fender teams to ensure disciplined development, design, and testing of automated systems. Your responsibilities will also include sustaining the daily execution of the Finishing value stream, implementing quality controls, and engaging in continuous improvement activities to enhance overall production efficiency.
