Job Description
Who you are
You have 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1 year in a production environment as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Your educational background includes a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, and a Masterβs degree is a plus. You possess a solid understanding of general data engineering principles and distributed systems, which allows you to effectively contribute to the team. Your experience includes working with streaming data processing frameworks such as Apache Flink or Spark, showcasing your ability to handle complex data challenges. You are familiar with software development life cycles (SDLC) and have a strong programming background that enables you to integrate new technologies seamlessly into existing systems.
What you'll do
As a Data Engineer II at Five9, you will be a key player in our data team, responsible for designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining highly scalable data management systems. You will ensure that these systems meet business requirements and adhere to industry best practices. Your role will involve integrating new data management technologies and software engineering tools into our existing structures, enhancing our data capabilities. You will work closely with messaging systems and data pipelines, employing a variety of technologies and tools to connect systems effectively. Your focus will be on driving improvements in data reliability, efficiency, and quality, ensuring that our analytics-based solutions are robust and effective.
