Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in a related field. Your technical skills are demonstrated through your ability to troubleshoot and explain test functions effectively to manufacturing partners. You have a strong understanding of manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT) principles, ensuring that designs are optimized for production.

You are experienced in collaborating with EMS suppliers to define and implement manufacturing tests for electrical hardware and software at various levels, including board, module, and system levels. Your attention to detail allows you to monitor product and system tests on-site at manufacturing partners, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the testing process.

You are skilled in creating and maintaining test documentation, including procedures, processes, and tools. Your collaboration with the Formlabs Factory Software team enables you to debug and troubleshoot new tests effectively. You are committed to reducing test cycle times through process improvement and optimization strategies.

You are proficient in writing queries to support manufacturing yield dashboards and data collection, contributing to the overall efficiency of the testing process. Your ability to assist in developing and updating test documents and standard operating procedures is crucial for maintaining high standards in testing practices.

What you'll do

As an Electromechanical Test Engineer at Formlabs, you will focus on improving the yields and efficiency of our in-line test routines. You will troubleshoot and explain Formlabs defined test functions to our manufacturing partners, ensuring that they understand the processes involved. Your role will involve supporting new product development by ensuring that designs have been reviewed for manufacturability and testability, adhering to quality, method, and cost standards.

You will work closely with EMS suppliers to define and implement manufacturing tests for electrical hardware and software at the board, module, and system levels. Monitoring product and system tests on-site at our manufacturing partners will be a key responsibility, allowing you to ensure that testing processes are effective and efficient.

Creating and maintaining test documentation will be essential, as you will need to develop procedures, processes, and tools that align with our quality standards. Collaborating with the Formlabs Factory Software team will enable you to debug and troubleshoot new tests, ensuring that they meet our rigorous testing criteria.

Your efforts to reduce test cycle times through process improvement and test optimization will be vital in enhancing our overall testing efficiency. You will also write queries to support manufacturing yield dashboards and data collection, providing valuable insights into our testing processes.
