Overview

GenScript is seeking an Intern - Biotechnologist (Protein) to assist in protein expression and cell culture experiments. This role requires hands-on experience with mammalian cells and data analysis.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level biotechnologist with a keen interest in protein expression and cell culture. You have a foundational understanding of mammalian cell lines such as HEK293 and CHO, and you are eager to learn and grow in a laboratory environment. You are detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate experimental records and reports. You are comfortable operating laboratory equipment such as bioreactors and centrifuges, and you are familiar with preparing buffers and reagents. You are proactive in formulating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on your work experiences. You are a team player who values collaboration and communication in a scientific setting.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the resuscitation, passage, transfection, and culture of mammalian cells. You will conduct experiments and analyze data related to cell culture, ensuring that all experimental records and reports are meticulously prepared. You will operate bioreactors and centrifuges, playing a crucial role in the preparation of buffers and reagents necessary for experiments. You will also contribute to the formulation and updating of SOPs, summarizing your work experiences to enhance laboratory processes. Your responsibilities will include managing laboratory instruments and ensuring they are maintained in optimal condition for research activities. You will work closely with senior scientists and other team members to support ongoing projects and contribute to the overall success of the laboratory.
