You have experience as a Security Engineer, particularly in securing cloud-native environments — you understand the nuances of product security and privacy, and you are passionate about enabling development teams to take ownership of their security responsibilities. You are familiar with industry standards and best practices, including OWASP guidelines, and you have a strong grasp of security controls and vulnerability assessments. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that security is integrated into the product development lifecycle.
You possess a solid understanding of cloud security principles and have experience with platforms like AWS and Cloudflare — you are adept at identifying potential security risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Your analytical skills enable you to perform thorough design reviews and vulnerability assessments, ensuring that products meet the highest security standards. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest security trends and technologies.
What you'll do
As a Security Engineer at GoCardless, you will work closely with development teams to establish security requirements and standards — your role will involve conducting design reviews and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security issues early in the development process. You will collaborate with the Security Operations and Security Engineering teams to build and implement security controls that protect our products and customers.
You will be responsible for educating development teams on security best practices and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization — your efforts will help ensure that security is a shared responsibility across all teams. You will also participate in incident response activities, helping to investigate and remediate security incidents as they arise.
