You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Your expertise spans across various machine learning techniques, including generative AI, personalization, and recommender systems. You possess strong leadership skills and can effectively translate product and business needs into scalable ML solutions with measurable outcomes. You are well-versed in secure software development practices and understand the importance of building applications that are not only innovative but also safe and reliable.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring engineers and scientists, helping them grow their skills and careers. You have a strategic mindset, always looking for opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance the user experience and drive social change. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is one of your key strengths, enabling you to bridge the gap between technical and business teams.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with data engineering practices. You may also have a background in working with nonprofit organizations or a passion for social impact, aligning with GoFundMe's mission to help others.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a talented team of engineers and scientists in the Applied Science organization at GoFundMe. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and deploy innovative services and applications that utilize state-of-the-art machine learning and AI techniques. You will oversee the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and meet the needs of users and the business.

You will work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for new technology development, translating these opportunities into actionable projects. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within your team, encouraging team members to share ideas and experiment with new approaches.

You will also be responsible for setting clear goals and measurable outcomes for your team, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success. Regularly communicating with upper management and other departments will be essential to keep everyone aligned on project objectives and timelines.
