Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in machine learning and AI. You possess a deep understanding of machine learning models and their application in consumer products, ideally in the fitness or health domain. Your leadership style emphasizes mentorship and team growth, and you have a proven track record of managing high-impact teams. You are comfortable with technical strategy and can balance innovation with product impact. You thrive in collaborative environments and are skilled at cross-functional communication, ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and design teams.
Desirable
Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP would be advantageous. A background in fitness technology or consumer applications is a plus, as is experience in agile methodologies.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the Applied AI and Machine Learning team at Strava, responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models that enhance user experiences. You will roadmap and drive the technical strategy for AI initiatives across multiple product verticals, ensuring that your team delivers impactful solutions at scale. You will work closely with product managers and designers to launch and optimize features that engage millions of users. Your responsibilities will include mentoring your team, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. You will also be involved in stakeholder communication, ensuring that the technical direction aligns with business goals.
