Job Description

Who you are

You have 7 years of experience in electrical or mechanical systems, particularly in industrial or commercial environments. Your background includes working with electrical testing equipment, electrical distribution, and HVAC systems, making you well-versed in the technical requirements of a data center environment. You possess an associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field. Your experience includes maintenance and operations of data centers or similar mission-critical facilities, where you've collaborated with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.

You have a strong understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, and air handling units. Your ability to communicate effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work is a key asset. You are also prepared to support your team with technical problem-solving during non-office hours, demonstrating your commitment to operational excellence.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the maintenance and operational activities of data center systems, ensuring they function optimally. You will act as the primary liaison for quality concerns and direct site teams regarding data center commissioning, retesting protocols, and major repairs. Your responsibilities will include facilitating feedback and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the team. You will engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute decisions and resolve technical issues.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of high voltage electrical substations and other mission-critical facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Your expertise will guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the data center operations. You will play a crucial role in leading organizational change processes by providing site-level feedback and implementing best practices.
