Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. You bring 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role and 2 years in people management or team leadership. Your background includes building cloud or systems-level infrastructure across the entire hardware and software stack, showcasing your ability to navigate complex technical environments. You are passionate about building tools focused on infrastructure operations and architectural integrity, and you have a strong understanding of diagnostics and leading team efforts to solve technical issues.

Your expertise extends to building and operating Compute Infrastructure within large-scale cloud environments or hybrid/on-premises deployments. You possess knowledge of Service Level Objectives (SLOs), telemetry integration, and metrics measurement to enhance the operator experience. You thrive in ambiguous situations and have a proven track record of delivering technical solutions that meet project goals while fostering team growth and technical excellence.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Manager II, you will manage a team of Systems Development Engineers (SDEs) and Software Engineers (SWEs), balancing support with the development of sustainable systems. You will implement and govern success metrics across the operational plane, including support case management and repair efficiency. Your role will involve driving collaboration to uncover technical problems and build automation systems that enhance operational efficiency. You will contribute to product strategy and help develop your team, ensuring that engineers are able to optimize their code while you optimize your own.
