Overview

Google is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer for Google Fi to lead the development of end-user-facing products. You'll work with Java, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript, and have a strong focus on software design and architecture. This role requires 8+ years of experience in software development.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. With 5 years of experience in full stack development, you are proficient in back-end technologies such as Java, Kotlin, or Python, and have front-end experience with TypeScript or equivalent. Your background includes 5 years of testing and launching software products, as well as 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. You possess excellent technical leadership skills, enabling you to define ideas, strategies, and priorities effectively. Your experience includes collaborating with cross-functional leaders, including product managers, data scientists, and UX designers, across the globe. You are also familiar with machine learning design and optimizing ML infrastructure, including model deployment and evaluation.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. You have 8 years of experience building end-user-facing products and 3 years of experience in machine learning design. Your technical communication and collaboration skills are exceptional, allowing you to work effectively in diverse teams.

What you'll do

As a Staff Full Stack Engineer at Google, you will lead the development of next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will define long-term strategies and drive technical direction, guiding your team to execute projects from ambiguous requirements to high-impact deliverables. Your role will involve collaborating with data science, product management, and other cross-functional leaders to define the technical roadmap for the product. You will focus on engineering excellence on the commerce platform, emphasizing performance, reliability, monitoring, and testing. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within your team.
