Google is hiring a Senior Generative AI Engineer to work on agentic frameworks and generative AI technologies. You'll leverage your expertise in machine learning and programming languages to develop innovative solutions. This position requires 5+ years of experience in software development and ML infrastructure.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5+ years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure, focusing on model deployment, evaluation, optimization, and debugging. You also have 1 year of experience with Generative AI techniques, such as LLMs and Multi-Modal models, and are familiar with concepts like language modeling and computer vision. Your experience extends to working with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, and Vector Databases, as well as agentic patterns.

You possess a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, and have 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. You have also worked in a complex, matrixed organization, managing cross-functional projects for at least 3 years. Your technical leadership experience spans 1 year, and you have designed and maintained open-source libraries or SDKs. Additionally, you have experience developing accessible technologies, which is a plus.

What you'll do

As a Senior Generative AI Engineer at Google, you will develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your role will involve designing and implementing scalable systems that handle information at massive scale, extending well beyond web search. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in coding, documentation, and user feedback integration. You will also triage product or system issues, debugging and resolving them by analyzing their sources and impacts on hardware, network, or service operations.

You will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that leverage your expertise in machine learning and generative AI. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with engineers from various domains, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
