You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript. With 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, you have a proven track record of overseeing projects and managing teams effectively. Your experience in people management spans at least 2 years, demonstrating your ability to guide and develop engineers.
You possess a strong technical background that allows you to contribute to product strategy while managing project goals. You are adept at optimizing code and ensuring that your team can do the same, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Your experience in a matrixed organization has equipped you with the skills to navigate complex team dynamics and collaborate effectively across various functions.
Desirable
A Masterβs degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred, along with experience working in a matrixed organization. Your familiarity with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and its applications in prototyping tools will be a significant asset in this role.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of software engineers in the YouTube Creator Studio Client team, guiding them through the development of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and ensuring that your team is equipped to tackle challenges effectively. Your role will involve facilitating technical escalations and decision-making processes to unblock any hindrances within the team.
You will partner closely with Product Management and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to ensure effective collaboration across teams. Your leadership will help shape the future of the Studio 2026 roadmap, strategizing on how to implement cutting-edge technologies and tools that enhance the user experience for creators.
