Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your expertise spans both back-end and front-end technologies, including Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. With at least 2 years in a technical leadership role, you have a proven track record in people management and team leadership. You also possess a strong understanding of Data Analytics and Machine Learning, which enhances your ability to guide your team effectively.

You thrive in complex, matrixed organizations and have experience navigating the challenges that come with them. Your technical expertise allows you to contribute to product strategy while ensuring your team is aligned with project goals. You are passionate about optimizing code and fostering an environment where engineers can excel in their roles.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, as well as additional experience in a leadership capacity. Your background in working with large-scale systems and distributed computing will be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of engineers focused on Channel Memberships for YouTube. Your responsibilities will include designing, guiding, and vetting system designs while writing product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems. You will review code developed by other engineers, providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices, including style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
