Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with 8 years of experience in software development across various programming languages. With at least 3 years of experience managing teams, you have a proven track record of leading projects and mentoring team members. Your expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems sets you apart, as you understand the complexities involved in maintaining large-scale, fault-tolerant systems.
You thrive in a culture of intellectual curiosity and problem-solving, and you appreciate the importance of collaboration and openness in a team environment. Your experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) has equipped you with the skills to optimize existing systems, build infrastructure, and automate processes to enhance service reliability and performance.
Desirable
A Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred, as well as familiarity with coding, algorithms, and complexity analysis. You are comfortable managing on-call rotations and have experience working with teams across different time zones, utilizing a follow-the-sun model to ensure continuous service availability.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you will oversee the Traffic Sessions SRE team, ensuring that both internal and external systems maintain high reliability and uptime. You will design, write, and deliver software solutions that improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Google's services.
