Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, along with equivalent practical experience. With at least 6 years of experience working in a data center or relevant technical environment, you have a solid foundation in hardware systems. Your 5 years of experience in technical leadership have equipped you with the skills to manage and design complex hardware systems effectively.
You possess a deep understanding of the hardware product development process, from concept through design, validation, manufacturing, and deployment. Your ability to influence decision-makers and stakeholders is complemented by your excellent communication skills, allowing you to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
Desirable
A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred, as well as experience managing hardware systems for data centers and enterprise systems. Your familiarity with collaborating with key hardware vendors and suppliers will be an asset in driving the industry ecosystem to meet future needs.
What you'll do
As a Hardware Design Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead the hardware team responsible for designing and building the systems that power Google's extensive computing infrastructure. You will oversee the development of custom hardware, ensuring it meets the demands of Google's services. Your role will involve collaborating with operational teams and manufacturers to address technical and deployment issues, ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to mass production.
