Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 10 years of experience in a technical role focused on data and analytics. Your leadership experience spans at least 5 years managing customer-facing technical teams, showcasing your ability to guide and inspire others in a complex environment.

Your expertise includes one or more domains such as databases, data warehousing, data lakes/lake houses, data engineering, business intelligence, or geospatial data analysis. You understand the nuances of working with public sector customers and can navigate the unique challenges they present.

You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts to various audiences effectively. Your ability to lead and execute complex, customer-facing technical engagements, such as proof-of-concepts and architectural reviews, sets you apart as a trusted advisor.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field would be a plus, as would experience with Google Cloud data and analytics products like BigQuery, Spanner, Cloud SQL, Dataproc, Dataflow, Looker, and Google Earth Engine. Familiarity with data governance and management principles in regulated environments is also beneficial.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as the organization's technical expert for the data and analytics portfolio, guiding your team and public sector customers through their data journey. You will engage closely with leaders across the RISE organization, including AI, Security, and Platform Engineering, to deliver integrated, comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of public sector clients.

Your responsibilities will include managing customer-facing technical teams, ensuring they are equipped to handle complex data challenges. You will lead initiatives that leverage Google's 10x culture to solve the world's most complex mission challenges through innovative data solutions.

You will also be responsible for understanding the needs of key public sector customers and acting as a trusted advisor, helping them navigate their data landscape. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that the solutions provided are not only effective but also aligned with the strategic goals of the organization.
