Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science, and at least 4 years of experience in failure analysis, particularly in consumer electronics or semiconductor devices. Your background includes hands-on experience with lab tools such as microscopes and EE probing tools, and you are comfortable working in a collaborative environment with engineers from various disciplines.

You hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science, which enhances your ability to tackle experimental work. You have experience with inspection equipment like X-ray and CT, as well as FIB and SEM, which are crucial for analyzing hardware failures. Your skills in experimental automation, instrument control, and data analysis tools are well-developed, allowing you to contribute effectively to the team's objectives.

You are proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, R, C++, and JavaScript, which you utilize to automate processes and analyze data. Your ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is a key asset in your role.

What you'll do

As a Failure Analysis Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for investigating hardware failures across all products. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop test methods and support products from early prototypes through field failures. Your role will involve running and utilizing lab tools to conduct thorough analyses and document findings clearly.
