Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science, and at least 4 years of experience in failure analysis, particularly in consumer electronics or semiconductor devices. Your background includes hands-on experience with lab tools such as microscopes and EE probing tools, and you are comfortable working in a collaborative environment with engineers from various disciplines.
You hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science, which enhances your ability to tackle experimental work. You have experience with inspection equipment like X-ray and CT, as well as FIB and SEM, which are crucial for analyzing hardware failures. Your skills in experimental automation, instrument control, and data analysis tools are well-developed, allowing you to contribute effectively to the team's objectives.
You are proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, R, C++, and JavaScript, which you utilize to automate processes and analyze data. Your ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is a key asset in your role.
What you'll do
As a Failure Analysis Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for investigating hardware failures across all products. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop test methods and support products from early prototypes through field failures.
