Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using C++. If you hold an advanced degree, you may qualify with just 1 year of experience. Your background includes working in Unix/Linux environments and developing Linux device drivers, showcasing your technical expertise in these areas.
You possess experience with camera sensors and low-power SoC architectures, particularly ARM. Your programming skills extend to C++ and Python, allowing you to tackle various software challenges effectively. You have a keen understanding of optimizing software for power, latency, and memory usage, which is crucial for developing efficient camera systems.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineer on the Camera System team, you will work on critical projects that enhance Google Pixel's camera capabilities. Your responsibilities will include developing and testing the Pixel Camera HAL, measuring and monitoring key performance indicators that track user experience, and implementing optimizations to improve power efficiency and responsiveness.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to re-architect the Pixel Camera HAL, focusing on achieving long-term goals for camera viewfinder responsiveness and launch latency. Additionally, you will develop tools to streamline camera development processes, ensuring that the team can deliver high-quality features efficiently.
