Job Description
Who you are
You are currently pursuing an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related training program certification in a relevant technical field such as CMCO or SMT. You have experience in Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or electrical systems, and you are comfortable with material handling tasks, including lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs. You understand the importance of safety and are familiar with OSHA standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.
You are eager to learn quickly and address issues as they arise, whether during normal working hours or when on-call. You are comfortable performing repetitive technical and manual work, and you have a strong desire to contribute to a critical environment where efficiency and safety are paramount.
What you'll do
In this role, you will operate, monitor, and support facility activities at Google's data centers. You will ensure that problems are identified and repaired quickly, and that contractors deliver quality services and preventive maintenance. You will assist in the resolution of tickets and work orders, acquiring knowledge of work order and ticket workflow as you go. You will train alongside experienced technicians, learning to assess systems' working order and read blueprints or schematics. Your responsibilities will include following approved procedures and completing all assigned training as scheduled, while being available to work on shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
