Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment. Your background includes drafting or enforcing online platform policy and engaging with online public policy issues, particularly in product management focused on product and user safety. You possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to execution. Your communication and people management skills are exceptional, allowing you to influence and align with executive stakeholders and leadership effectively.

You thrive in demanding and changing environments, demonstrating the ability to balance a holistic mindset with attention to detail. Your experience includes engaging in and discussing sensitive or controversial policy/content areas, which is crucial for this role. You are proactive and dedicated to enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

What you'll do

As a Policy Development Lead, you will develop global policies and product solutions for YouTube content, ensuring clarity, accountability, and seamless hand-offs across teams. You will propose new strategies and policies to improve Trust and Safety product market fit, adapting to evolving needs and scaling enforcement capabilities. Your role will involve understanding and clearly communicating the policy issues and needs presented by new features and emerging global online content risks. You will collaborate with various teams, including Feature Teams, Enforcement, and Operations, to drive the implementation of these policies effectively.
