Who you are

You hold a PhD in Computer Science, Economics, or a related field, and have a strong foundation in designing and running scalable mechanisms and processes. Your experience includes submitting scientific publications to prestigious conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR, showcasing your commitment to advancing knowledge in your field. You have at least 2 years of coding experience and 1 year of experience in owning and initiating research agendas, demonstrating your ability to lead projects from conception to execution.

Your technical skills include a deep understanding of data structures, advanced algorithms, and software design, complemented by strong analytical and debugging abilities. You are familiar with machine learning and game theory, which are essential for the innovative research projects at Google. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to the wider research community, sharing insights and findings with peers.

What you'll do

As a Research Scientist at Google, you will set up large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. You will create experiments and prototype implementations, designing new architectures that address real-world problems across various domains of computer science, including machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing.

Your role will involve conducting experiments based on specific research questions, developing research prototypes, and conducting simulations to evaluate the impact of your research. You will finalize hypotheses and refine research methodologies under minimal guidance, ensuring that your work aligns with Google's goals of innovation and product contribution. Additionally, you will partner with teams across Google, including Ads and Waymo, to transition projects from theory and proof-of-concept to practical applications.
