Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, and you bring at least 10 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems. Your expertise includes performing statistical analysis and coding in languages such as Python, R, and SQL. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 8 years of experience. You are comfortable communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership, and you enjoy weaving stories with meaningful insights from data.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to manage specific issues and drive data-informed decisions. Your analytical skills are complemented by a strategic perspective, allowing you to provide valuable insights that help shape product direction. You relish the challenge of tackling complex data problems and enjoy the satisfaction of making critical recommendations that impact your team and the broader organization.
Desirable
A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field is preferred. Additionally, having 12 years of experience in analytics will set you apart. You are familiar with the latest trends in data science and are eager to apply your knowledge to improve the Shopping Graph and enhance key shopping experiences, especially those powered by AI.
What you'll do
As a Senior Data Scientist at Google, you will play a pivotal role in the Merchant Data Science team, which acts as key data science partners to the Merchant Shopping Organization. You will design and implement analyses to measure the impact of Shopping Graph data on key shopping experiences. Your work will involve evaluating data, conducting log analysis, and communicating your findings clearly to various stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-driven insights are integrated into product development processes.
Your responsibilities will include providing quantitative support and market understanding to partners throughout the organization. You will help serve Google's worldwide user base of more than a billion people by using analytics to inform product decisions. You will also be responsible for making critical recommendations based on your analyses, ensuring that your insights lead to actionable outcomes.
