Job Description
Who you are
You hold a PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, and you have at least 5 years of experience in driving research ideas from problem abstraction to production. Your background includes leading a research agenda and submitting scientific publications to top conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR. You possess a deep understanding of transformer architecture internals and have a passion for deep learning, computational statistics, and applied mathematics. Your excellent technical leadership and communication skills enable you to conduct effective cross-functional collaborations across multiple teams.
What you'll do
As a Senior Research Scientist at Google, you will set up large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. You will create experiments and prototype implementations, designing new architectures that address real-world problems in machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing. Your role will involve optimizing the model deployment pipeline, which includes new formulations of pretraining, instruction tuning, and reinforcement learning. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize kernels and inference engines across different hardware and model architectures, focusing on improving latency, memory bandwidth, and workloads.
