Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, with at least 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products. Your experience includes at least 1 year in a technical leadership role, showcasing your ability to guide and mentor others in the field. You are familiar with developing accessible technologies and have hands-on experience with tools such as Spanner, Guice, and Flume, as well as SQL and distributed data processing systems.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on critical projects that enhance Google Photos' storage infrastructure. You will engage with teams such as Spanner, Blobstore, and Privacy to integrate the latest features and technologies into the Photos product. Your role will involve collaborating with other product areas to identify shared strategies that scale the Photos application effectively. You will partner with the Photos Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to ensure the production environment runs smoothly, addressing any issues that arise promptly.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable storage solutions that can handle massive amounts of data. Your work will directly impact how billions of users connect and interact with information through Google Photos. You will also have opportunities to switch teams and projects, allowing you to explore various aspects of Google's technology landscape and contribute to different initiatives.
