Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development across various programming languages. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and you have a solid understanding of software design and architecture. You have experience interfacing with custom electronics or low latency real-time systems, and you are proficient in systems programming languages such as Rust or C/C++. Your expertise extends to data structures and algorithms, and you have a keen interest in digital signal processing and quantum computing.

You are a strong communicator and collaborator, capable of working effectively in a team environment. You have experience in a technical leadership role, which has equipped you with the skills to guide and mentor others. Your curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies, and you are always looking for ways to improve processes and systems.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field would be a plus, as would additional experience in quantum control. You are familiar with the challenges of developing software for quantum systems and are eager to contribute to cutting-edge technology.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer in Reliability, you will be responsible for writing and testing product or system development code. You will build services and tooling to manage and monitor custom electronics and lab hardware, ensuring that systems operate smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve developing processes, procedures, and playbooks to resolve systems issues, with the goal of supporting future deployments of Quantum systems.

You will serve as the primary interface between the fleet and Quantum OS (QOS) teams, managing issues in the quantum fleet and ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your work will directly impact the development of next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will have opportunities to switch teams and projects as Google's fast-paced business evolves, allowing you to grow and expand your skill set.
