Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess a strong background in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. Your expertise includes developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, along with experience in compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. You are proficient in C++ and have a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library (STL). Additionally, you have experience working on the Linux kernel and a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms, ideally with 5 years of experience in this area. You may also have experience in a technical leadership role, contributing to the development of accessible technologies.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. You will work on critical projects that require managing information at a massive scale, extending beyond web search. Your role will involve ensuring best practices in coding, including style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency. You will contribute to existing documentation and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback. Additionally, you will triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
