You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You have a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, and you've spent at least 1 year building and deploying recommendation systems models in production. Your experience with machine learning infrastructure, including model deployment and evaluation, sets you apart. You are also familiar with developing accessible technologies and have a keen interest in improving user experiences through personalization.

You are versatile and eager to tackle new challenges, displaying leadership qualities that help you thrive in collaborative environments. Your background in computer science or a related technical field, ideally with a Master's degree or PhD, enhances your ability to contribute to innovative projects at Google. You are enthusiastic about working on large-scale systems and have a passion for information retrieval and artificial intelligence.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer III at Google, you will work on critical projects that enhance search ranking results through personalization. You will collaborate with Product Managers and other engineers to conceive and implement solutions that improve the user experience. Your responsibilities will include training and debugging machine learning models that power current and future search ranking solutions. You will analyze experimental results to help decide the launchable state for projects, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet Google's high standards for quality and performance.
