Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development. With 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure, you are well-versed in model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning. You also have 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, along with 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. Your expertise includes 2 years of experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques such as LLMs, Multi-Modal, and Large Vision Models, or related concepts like language modeling and computer vision. You are comfortable in a technical leadership role, having led project teams and set technical direction for at least 3 years.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. You have 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and you thrive in cross-functional or cross-business project environments.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines, influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers. Your role will involve leading the design of GenAI solutions, optimizing ML infrastructure, and guiding the development of data preparation and model optimization strategies. You will work on next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. Your contributions will help ensure that Google's products can handle information at massive scale, extending well beyond web search.
