Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program management. Your background includes managing software engineering programs and experience in cloud infrastructure capacity planning, such as demand forecasting and resource allocation. You are comfortable leading cross-functional projects and have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies. Your experience with major cloud providers, particularly Google Cloud Platform, sets you apart as a candidate. You possess a keen ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executives, ensuring that project goals are aligned across the organization.

Your problem-solving skills are complemented by your ability to monitor and track program progress, propose mitigation plans, and align stakeholders on de-risking strategies. You are familiar with industrial engineering principles and have a focus on delivering software products that emphasize system reliability and performance. You understand that a problem isn’t truly solved until it’s addressed comprehensively, which drives your approach to project management.

What you'll do

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work closely with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional partners across the company to ensure that project objectives are met. You will be responsible for managing risks and tracking the progress of programs, proposing mitigation plans as necessary. Your expertise in cloud capacity planning will be crucial as you help shape the direction of projects hosted on Google Cloud Platform.

You will also seek out and apply best practices from other Google processes and technologies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be essential as you explain analyses and recommendations to executives while discussing technical trade-offs with engineers. You will play a key role in aligning teams and ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed smoothly, ultimately driving the success of Google’s cloud initiatives.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of an entrepreneurial team that is dedicated to transforming and innovating business through the use of our global network and software infrastructure.
