You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building and operating distributed systems. Your expertise in Go allows you to create resilient and high-performing applications that can handle significant user loads. You thrive in a remote-first environment and are comfortable collaborating with teams across different time zones.

Your experience with observability tools and monitoring systems gives you a unique perspective on how to ensure system reliability and performance. You understand the importance of user feedback and are adept at integrating it into your development process. You are a strong communicator, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with cloud-based systems and familiarity with Grafana products would be a plus. You may also have experience in performance testing and monitoring, which will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Grafana, you will be part of the synthetics squad, responsible for building and operating our monitoring product. You will design and implement scalable backend services that support Grafana k6 and Grafana Cloud Synthetics. Your role will involve collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure that our monitoring solutions meet the needs of our users.

You will lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentoring junior engineers and helping them grow in their roles. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our products, ensuring that they can handle millions of requests efficiently. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production, using your problem-solving skills to maintain high service availability.
