Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in hardware development, with expertise in microprocessor system design and debugging. Your experience includes analyzing system requirements and designing circuit solutions, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including Silicon, Architecture, and Software. You are proficient in generating schematics and PCB layout constraints, and you work closely with PCB CAD teams to realize designs. You understand processor power supply, reset, clocking requirements, memory, communications, and control interfaces deeply. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for creating innovative hardware solutions that contribute to the future of AI compute.
Desirable
Experience with high-performance computing systems or AI hardware is a plus. Familiarity with test and validation plans, as well as running test campaigns, will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable interpreting results and debugging to improve performance, and you have a collaborative mindset that allows you to work seamlessly with firmware and system architecture teams.
What you'll do
As a Hardware Development Engineer at Graphcore, you will be responsible for analyzing system requirements and designing circuit solutions that meet those needs. You will generate schematics and work with the PCB CAD team to ensure that designs are realized effectively. Your role will involve defining test and validation plans, running test campaigns, and reporting results to the relevant teams. You will collaborate closely with firmware and system architecture teams to interpret results and debug issues, ensuring that performance is optimized. You will contribute to both products for sale in volume production and hardware test and validation systems based on Graphcoreβs IPU processor, playing a key role in the development of cutting-edge AI technology.
