What you'll do

In this role, you will design and optimize ETL workflows in Apache Airflow to enable efficient data transfers between systems such as S3, Snowflake, and Kafka. You will develop data products that align with internal governance, scalability, and security standards, ensuring that all processes meet compliance requirements. Your responsibilities will include implementing real-time and batch data pipelines, taking ownership of database administration, logging, alerting, and spearheading initiatives to enhance data observability.

You will engage in research and development to incorporate innovative big data technologies into Grindr’s systems, enforcing data governance policies and ensuring compliance with legal and security frameworks. Your role will also involve mentoring team members, helping them grow their skills and knowledge in data engineering practices. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Grindr's data architecture as the company continues to innovate and grow.

What we offer

Grindr offers a competitive base pay range of $166,000—$195,000 USD, along with equity, benefits, and a company bonus program. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid role, requiring you to be in the Chicago office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
