You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams and driving successful projects — your experience spans over 5 years in software development and team management. You possess deep expertise in Java and Spring, having built scalable applications that handle significant user traffic. Your familiarity with Ruby and frontend technologies like Node.js and React allows you to bridge the gap between backend and frontend teams effectively. You understand the importance of databases and have hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Memcache, ensuring data integrity and performance. Your knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and GCP, enables you to design and manage robust systems that support business objectives. You are well-versed in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, which are essential for modern application deployment. Your experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ allows you to implement efficient communication between services. You are also familiar with monitoring and logging tools like the ELK Stack, ensuring system reliability and performance tracking.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers in the Marketing organization, focusing on both organic and paid marketing domains. You will be responsible for driving engagement and conversions by developing innovative solutions that reach users with the right message at the right time. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define and execute the technical roadmap. Your leadership will inspire your team to embrace challenges and pursue excellence in their work. You will oversee the development of real-time communication systems that enhance user experience and drive business results. You will also be involved in mentoring and developing your team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. As part of your responsibilities, you will ensure that best practices in software development are followed, including code reviews, testing, and deployment strategies. You will play a key role in the transformation of Groupon's technology stack, leveraging modern tools and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
