GumGum is seeking a Director of Tax to build and lead their global tax function. You'll oversee domestic and international tax strategy, compliance, and reporting. This role requires strategic leadership and hands-on execution.

Who you are
You have extensive experience in tax strategy and compliance, ideally with a background in both domestic and international tax regulations. You are comfortable advising senior leadership on tax implications and have a proven track record of managing tax operations effectively. You thrive in a hands-on role, capable of designing scalable processes while also executing tax filings and managing audits. Your strategic mindset allows you to build a tax function from the ground up, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
You possess strong analytical skills and are detail-oriented, which enables you to navigate complex tax issues and develop effective solutions. You have experience working with external partners and managing relationships to ensure compliance and efficiency in tax operations. Your ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals is a key strength, allowing you to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of GumGum's tax function, including strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning. You will be responsible for managing tax operations across multiple jurisdictions, including the U.S., U.K., Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Japan, and Mexico. You will work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer to align tax strategies with the company's overall business objectives. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing tax processes, managing compliance calendars, and leading audits. You will also advise senior leadership on the tax implications of strategic initiatives, ensuring that the company remains compliant while optimizing its tax position.
