Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in identity and access management (IAM) automation, with a strong understanding of enterprise identity governance and lifecycle management. Your background includes designing and implementing scalable identity solutions across various platforms, ensuring security and compliance in identity operations. You are proficient in AWS and have experience with containerization technologies like Docker, which you have used to streamline deployment processes. Your programming skills in Python enable you to develop automation scripts and workflows that enhance operational efficiency. You are familiar with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, allowing you to manage and provision identity resources effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Security, IT Engineering, and People Operations to align IAM strategies with organizational goals. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends and best practices in IAM automation.

Desirable

Experience with additional IAM tools such as Okta or Auth0 would be a plus, as would familiarity with compliance frameworks like GDPR or HIPAA. A background in security engineering or DevOps practices can further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the architecture, design, and implementation of Handshake's enterprise identity automation and governance ecosystem. You will define the long-term IAM automation strategy, ensuring that identity operations are secure-by-default across SaaS, cloud, and internal platforms. You will build resilient and scalable lifecycle workflows that automate user provisioning and deprovisioning, enhancing the overall security posture of the organization. Collaborating closely with Security and IT Engineering teams, you will identify and mitigate risks associated with identity management. You will also partner with People Operations to streamline onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for employees. Your role will involve continuous monitoring and optimization of IAM processes, leveraging metrics and analytics to drive improvements. You will participate in incident response activities related to identity breaches, providing expertise to resolve issues swiftly and effectively. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of IAM policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
