Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, with a strong background in designing scalable services and architectures. Your expertise in Java and cloud technologies like AWS allows you to contribute effectively to complex systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, guiding teams through best practices and architectural coherence. Your experience includes mentoring engineers and improving system reliability and performance. You are passionate about solving challenging system problems that drive product impact at scale. You understand the importance of developer velocity and are committed to fostering a supportive engineering culture.

Desirable

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. Familiarity with event-driven architectures and service-oriented architectures will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable navigating cross-functional teams and can communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and implementation of new features for Homebase’s Core Platform, ensuring that the architectural vision aligns with the company’s goals. You will serve as a technical bridge between the Identity & Notifications and Billing & Businesses teams, facilitating collaboration and coherence in architectural decisions. Your hands-on contributions will involve coding, system design, and performance optimization. You will mentor junior engineers, helping them adopt best practices and improve their technical skills. You will also identify opportunities for enhancing system reliability and developer velocity, ensuring that the platform can scale effectively as the user base grows. Your role will require you to stay updated with industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation within the team.
