Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in backend development, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can take ownership of projects. Your expertise in Java allows you to build robust backend systems, and you have experience with React, enabling you to contribute across the stack when needed. You are curious and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and iterate on solutions rapidly.

You are comfortable with end-to-end ownership of features, often taking the initiative to drive projects from conception to deployment. Your ability to partner with data scientists and customer service representatives helps you create tools that enhance user experiences and streamline workflows. You believe in the power of AI to improve efficiency and are excited about building intelligent systems that can adapt to user needs.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with agile methodologies would be a plus. You are also open to learning new technologies and frameworks as needed to meet project demands.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend systems that support HubSpot’s Customer Success and Customer Service teams. You will collaborate closely with customer service representatives to gather insights and iterate on features that improve their workflows. Your work will involve building intelligent interfaces that provide contextual data and actionable alerts, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of customer service operations.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of features that may become available to HubSpot’s customers, ensuring that the solutions you develop are scalable and impactful. Your day-to-day will include coding in Java, participating in code reviews, and working with React to create seamless user experiences. You will engage in discussions with data scientists to leverage data in your development process, ensuring that the tools you build are data-driven and effective.
